Bellevue Christian School is a private, nondenominational preschool-Grade 12 1A school located in Clyde Hill, Washington, in the United States. BCS is a part of the Emerald City League, a high school athletic conference located in the greater Seattle Area. The school was founded in 1950 by brothers Dr. Albert and Joseph Greene. Since its inception enrollment of Bellevue Christian School has grown from nine students to 1,301 students.Philosophy and Mission StatementPhilosophy:The philosophy of BCS follows the opinions of its founder, Dr. Al Greene. Greene believes that Christians today should have what he calls "an alternative consciousness." They should recognize that the Christian worldview is distinctly different from the prevailing secular-humanist worldview which he believes is prevalent in today's culture and public schools.Mission Statement:BCS states that its mission is to prepare young people to live fully for God in a rapidly changing world, with the ability to understand, evaluate, and transform their world from the foundation of God's unchanging values.AffiliationBellevue Christian School is a private, interdenominational school.
