The Flowing Wells Library opened on July 28, 2008, and like the Ellie Towne Community Center across the street, was enthusiastically embraced by the individuals and families of the surrounding neighborhoods. In fact, it quickly became apparent that the original 5,000 square foot library was too small.
Expansion was necessary, and 10 years later the Flowing Wells Library underwent a major renovation and expansion led by the award-winning and internationally recognized Tucson architecture firm Line and Space LLC. The tiny library nearly tripled in size to 13,000 square feet. The new library opened on December 10, 2018.
