MORE DETAILS:
Walk in the steps of heroes at Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum. Guests can experience three warships: aircraft carrier USS Yorktown; destroyer USS Laffey, submarine USS Clamagore. In addition, 28 aircraft are on display from conflicts ranging from World War II to present-day operations. The Medal of Honor Museum is also located aboard the USS Yorktown. Landside, there is a 3-acre Vietnam Experience Exhibit and also a Cold War Sub Memorial.
Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum also offers one of the largest education and overnight camping programs in the nation, with more than 40,000 school-age children attending these programs each year. We offer structured programs focusing on history, science and technology curriculum course work. For more than 30 years, organized groups of 10 or more have been camping overnight aboard the USS Yorktown. Campers sleep in the berthing areas where the sailors once slept and learn about naval and aviation history. Each camping package includes self-guided tours, meals and entertainment, plus an on-site educational program.
There are two snack bars on site staffed by Sticky Fingers Barbeque. There is also a sit-down restaurant, The Fighting Lady Café, onboard the USS Yorktown.
Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum is located on the Charleston Harbor at 40 Patriots Point Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
