MORE DETAILS:

The Charleston Museum is a must-see for anyone interested in the history of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Founded in 1773, it is considered America's First Museum and provides the most comprehensive overview of area history in Charleston. The exhibits contain an unmatched display of artifacts from its Archaeology, Archives, HIstory, Historic Textiles and Natural History collections, which together tell the story of the Lowcountry's past. The Museum's Kidstory exhibit, meanwhile, is perfect for children, offering an interactive and fun learning experience. The Museum offers memberships, special programs, workshops, lectures, and other activities for both children and adults throughout the year! To learn more, visit our website at CharlestonMuseum.org.
