Our book of the week is one that is hot off the press. It comes from Rick Riordan Presents. If you’re not familiar with Rick Riordan Presents it’s a branch of the Disney publishing family that finds authors from underrepresented cultures, to let them tell their stories inspired by the mythology and folklore of their heritage. And the latest book which just hit bookstores last Tuesday is City of the Plague God by Sarwat Chadda. It’s an over-the-top adventure based on the mythological gods of Ancient Mesopotamia. The story is set in the middle of a pandemic, which seems very fitting right now.
