Go through the "Deep Sea" door up the interactive staircase to an overlook. Telescopes are set up for viewing the islands. Every hour on the hour visitors can enjoy the 25-minute park movie, “A Treasure in the Sea,” shown throughout the day in the auditorium (closed-caption film available upon request).
The visitor center is open to the public and FREE. On weekends and holidays at 11 am and 3 pm rangers offer fun, educational Tidepool Talks; which are great for kids.
Learn all about the Channel Islands National Park which encompasses five remarkable islands and their ocean environment, preserving and protecting a wealth of natural and cultural resources. Isolation over thousands of years has created unique animals, plants, and archaeological resources found nowhere else on Earth and helped preserve a place where visitors can experience coastal southern California as it once was.
